Call for Presentations

Kia ora! The NZSLTA (New Zealand Sign Language Teachers Association) conference is a valuable professional development event for all NZSL tutors, teachers, mentors and researchers. It is an opportunity to share experiences, to learn about using the newly launched teaching resources and to share ideas.

NZSLTA Executive Committee is calling for presenters for the conference programme. We welcome all people involved in sign language teaching and learning to offer a presentation or workshop on the topics we are interested in.

Next year the conference theme is Our language, our pathway to our future” - Ko Te Teo Rotarota o Aotearoa te ara ki te ao

When: Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2025

Where: Waitangi Treaty Ground, Tau Henare Drive, Waitangi (Northland)

We welcome any ideas for presentations and workshops.

All presentations and workshops may be:

  • Lecture-style (30-minute presentation, 10 minutes for questions); or
  • Practical workshop (1 hour)

How to apply:

Please fill out the online form below and submit to us before 31st March 2025.

To submit your application. Fill out the form and send back to us before 31st March 2025.

30th April 2025

We will let you know by 30th April if your application has been accepted to do a presentation or workshop.

7th June 2025

Please send your PowerPoint file and handouts before 7th June 2025.
