First Central NZSL Camp
25 February 2019
The camp, led by Amber Shaw (NZSL4U) and supported by central NZSL tutors, was held at Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre in Wainuiomata, 40 minutes drive from Wellington. Approximately 73 people participated in the long, sunny weekend and enjoyed a range of activities, such as the Amazing Race, Deaf Deaf World, language activities, and the infamous drama night! There were presentations by Jared Flitcroft, a Deaf film maker, and Jake LaBerge from the New Zealand Video Interpreting Service.
