Northern Branch Tutor Training 2023

What: Tutor Training for Unit 1-4

When: Four Saturdays from 10am to 3pm
Saturday 24th June / Saturday 1st July / Saturday 8th July / Saturday 15th July

Where: Auckland Deaf Society (ADS), 16 Hillsborough Road, Auckland

Who: Welcome to any person that uses Sign Language who wishes to become a new NZSL tutor.

Cost: Free for NZSLTA members. $20 for non-members per training

Saturday 24th June consists:

• Class management: role and responsibilities of a NZSL tutor
• Overview of Unit 1
• Teaching Unit 1
• Understanding Unit 1 SL grammar
• Making resources for Unit 1

Saturday 1st July consists:

• Review from 24th June
• Overview of Unit 2
• Teaching Unit 2
• Understanding Unit 2 SL grammar
• Making resources for Unit 2

Saturday 8th July consists:

• Review from 1st July
• Overview of Unit 3
• Teaching Unit 3
• Understanding Unit 3 SL grammar
• Making resources for Unit 3

Saturday 15th July consists:

• Review from 8th July
• Overview of Unit 4
• Teaching Unit 4
• Understanding Unit 4 SL grammar
• Making resources for Unit 4

You bring for each Saturday, what?

• Your own lunch
• Notepad and pen
• Filemaster Lever Arch for each Units (you buy 4 of these)
• Copysafe pockets - 1 pkt each units
• A ream of A4 paper
• Scissor
• Glue Stick (2)
• Cardboards remnant (bit or end)
• Plastic snaplock bags (small, medium, large)
