Accessing TeachSign

19 April 2016

Still want to access more sections e.g. Teach, Resources, Tips? First, you will need to join New Zealand Sign Language Teachers Association (NZSLTA) as a member. It is only $30 a year.

Once you are a member, you can access everything on TeachSign but not units 4-9 resources.

Still keen to access units 4-9? Are you currently in the process of doing 'Certificate in Deaf Studies: Teaching NZSL' or have completed this certificate? Are you in the process of gaining teaching hours or have taught over 200 hours? It looks like you may be either a provisionally or fully qualified tutor. Go to NZSL Teacher > Getting Registered with NZSLTA and fill in the online form with all important documents attached. Or email the NZSLTA National Administrator for a form to fill out (word document).

RAP (Registration Advisory Panel) meets one or two times a year to assess your application. When you send your application, you'll be put on a waiting list to be assessed. Once your application is approved and you receive provisionally or fully qualified tutor registration, then you can start accessing units 4-9 resources.

Summary:

Non-certified NZSLTA members - can access everything but not units 4-9 (level one) in 'Resources' section.

Provisionally or fully qualified NZSLTA members - can access everything on TeachSign.
